These weren't made by me. They were made by photographers who'd never gilded before — in just two weeks with the Gilded Vellum Workshop.

Several have already been accepted into juried competitions. A few have sold work.

Client Reviews

“I just finished my online workshop, with Kevin Black, on gold leafing on vellum. It was wonderful. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable on this process. The workshop while structured was at a casual pace. Plenty of time for questions. Plenty of time for the process to be explained. I was supplied with a list of material sources. Kevin is a very enjoyable person to talk with and an excellent instructor. All the "This is why you do " and "Why you don't" were explained as the course progressed. I spent many hours over the years trying to learn this process. This workshop has all the answers. I now have what it takes to make a quality gold leaf on vellum print. I highly recommend it.
Thank you Kevin Black.”

“What a memorable experience! We spent the day gilding some of my photographs and they will be beautiful gifts. Mr Black is an exceptional teacher: experienced in all forms of photo printmaking, encouraging and patient. It was inspiring to be surrounded by his art and hear about his ongoing professional creative journey. He balances his meticulous technique with genuine warmth and humor. I recommend his workshops wholeheartedly! My photos of my projects can’t convey how lovely the gilded prints are in person. And his large gilded portraits are jaw-dropping to see!”
