What a memorable experience! We spent the day gilding some of my photographs and they will be beautiful gifts. Mr Black is an exceptional teacher: experienced in all forms of photo printmaking, encouraging and patient. It was inspiring to be surrounded by his art and hear about his ongoing professional creative journey. He balances his meticulous technique with genuine warmth and humor. I recommend his workshops wholeheartedly! My photos of my projects can’t convey how lovely the gilded prints are in person. And his large gilded portraits are jaw-dropping to see!

I came away with a much deeper understanding of the tintype process—from the history and artistry behind it to the hands-on techniques that bring these images to life.
Kevin is not only incredibly talented but also so generous in sharing his knowledge, answering questions with patience, and guiding through each step. I truly feel like I left with both new skills and a renewed excitement for the tintype process.
