Cyanotype Workshop

$120.00

One day. One box of sunshine. The bluest blue in photography.

Cyanotype — invented 1842, beloved by botanists and blueprint makers alike — turns sunlight into images. You'll coat the paper, compose with plants, lace and negatives, expose in the New Mexico sun, and wash out prints you can frame that same afternoon.

No darkroom, no previous experience, nothing to bring but curiosity. Everything is supplied. Engineers love why it works; artists love that no two blues match; everybody loves the moment the image rises out of the water tray.

Leave with finished prints — and the recipe to keep making them at home.

Price is per day. All materials included.

You pick you days, we will work the schedule so it works for both of us— my studio, Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Add a second day?‍ ‍Go deeper, further in experimentation. Add digital negatives. Play with color altering materials such as lemon juice, sugar and-well you’ll find out.
