The cosmos are all shades of pinks and magentas, their lace-like green leaves and stems gathered in a small six-inch off-white ceramic container with the word magic written on it. Behind them, a painterly, ethereal field of greens, reds, and golden browns. The colors are crazy beautiful in the New Mexico sunlight.
The word on the container is "magic" — lowercase, very sweet, as if you could pour some out and drink it. I can't improve on that. In the Victorian language of flowers, the cosmos means joy in love and life. I hope you enjoy their magic.
Luminous Cosmos is printed in archival pigment ink on vellum, then gilded on the reverse with Dutch gold leaf through a series of steps in my Rio Rancho, New Mexico studio. The gold behind the image gives the print a glow that shifts with the light in the room.
