Back in 1847, Frederick Scott Archer invented the wet plate collodion process. This was made popular during the Civil War.

Until then, preserving memories in pictures was almost impossible.

Special chemicals are mixed and then poured onto a metal or glass plate, dipped into a silver bath and then exposed in the camera.

That plate is then developed and fixed while still wet.

I create tintypes using the original formulas. Each plate becomes a unique capture in silver and light.
